The Balloon Castle combines history and the beauty of ballooning.
The Radešín Castle came into the hands of the Kubíček family thanks to the accidental discovery of an advertisement in a real estate newspaper, based on which Aleš Kubíček immediately bought it without hesitation. The atmosphere and location of the castle enchanted him, and he saw it as the ideal place for the creation of a Ballooning Center, which he had long desired. He found the castle’s space, its immediate surroundings, and the adjacent environment offering both meadow-covered areas and wooded forests to be perfect for this plan. He longed for a place where balloon launches and flights, facilities for his team, the possibility of organizing competitions and pilot training, excellent accessibility for clients from all over the country, and adequate airspace could be combined. Radešín Castle generously offers all this and adds the charming atmosphere of a historic residence, whose enhancement is our mission.
The castle was in a dilapidated state when purchased, and to fulfill its purpose, Aleš and his wife Naděžda had to partially renovate it first. Since 2008, Aleš Kubíček has been joined by his daughter-in-law Monika, who began building a pilot school and operating sightseeing flights. In 2014, all the responsibility for the Balloon Castle fell to Monika, supported by her husband Petr. Together, they continue the renovation and creation of a full-service ballooning center. In 2019, a museum of hot air balloon manufacturing in the Czech Republic was opened in the castle premises.
Although the castle’s renovation is not happening with the snap of a finger and there is not yet a Michelin chef in the kitchen, progress can be seen every day.
We are a family that has completely fallen in love with ballooning. We live with balloons practically every day, and flying brings us immense joy. This joy has the beautiful quality of doubling when we share it with someone else. Therefore, we would be very happy to share the joy of ballooning with you by having you visit us. At the castle, we (mainly Monika) have prepared everything needed for ballooning and balloon training. There are few places in the world that provide a similar level of comfort for balloon operations and balloon training.

Flying balloons brings us immense joy. But even more, we love sharing this joy with others. That’s the main reason why we are intensely involved in training hot air balloon pilots. We know that becoming a pilot requires a lot of personal effort and dedication, so our mission is to make your path to the desired qualification as pleasant as possible. You just need to come (and learn), and we will take care of everything else.
